Who are we?

Vineyard is part of a Global movement of churches that are passionate about Jesus, His Kingdom, and making a difference in our communities. We are ordinary people who believe in an extraordinary God.

Worship & Music Sessions

Love to worship? Join our Worship & Music Sessions, held twice a month a space to grow, learn, and explore worship together

These sessions are designed to help you develop your musical skills while learning how to play and worship in the Holy Spirit. Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, you’ll have the opportunity to learn songs together, grow in confidence, and discover your gift in worship. If you’re interested, speak to Calvin, our worship leader, we’d love to connect with you and explore your journey in worship.

What we do as a Church

Join a Home Group

Looking for a place to grow in your faith and ask real questions? Our Home Groups meet weekly and are a relaxed space to explore the Bible together, share ideas, and learn from one another. We currently host one group at Mountains of the Moon University (MMU) in Fort Portal and another in a home setting. These gatherings are designed to help you grow in understanding, build meaningful relationships, and support each other in faith—no matter your level of Bible knowledge.

Whether you’re new or have been reading the Bible for years, you’re welcome to come and be part of the conversation. Connect, grow in faith, and pray together. Get in touch with us if you’d like more information or want to join a Home Group.

Join Us for Church – Sundays at 3PM

Looking for a place to belong, grow, and encounter God? Join us as we gather once a month on Sundays at 3PM for a welcoming and uplifting church service—with a heart to meet more regularly as our team grows.

Our gatherings are a space where you can experience genuine community, be encouraged in your faith, and take time to connect with God through worship, teaching, and prayer. Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time or have been on the journey for years, you’ll find a relaxed and friendly environment where you can be yourself. Come as you are, meet new people, and be part of something meaningful. We’d love to see you there.

Youth & Children’s Church Service - once a month

Youth & Children’s Church Service is a vibrant and welcoming space where young people can grow in faith, build friendships, and discover their purpose. We meet once a month for a lively and engaging service that brings children and young people together in a fun, meaningful, and faith-filled way.

Each time we gather, we begin with joyful, energetic worship led by our youth band, followed by teaching that is accessible and engaging. We explore key themes such as spiritual gifting and the armour of God, helping children and young people understand how faith connects with everyday life.

We also take time to celebrate together, marking birthdays each month with cake and soda, creating moments of joy and community.

This is a place where children and young people are known, valued, and encouraged—a space to grow in faith and be part of a joyful community where God is at the centre.

How Vineyard Started and the Calling

Faith and David are from the UK and came to Uganda to serve, volunteering with YES Uganda while being supported by their home church to follow God’s calling. Their connection with the Vineyard Churches began in the UK through Dreaming the Impossible (DTI), a summer youth festival. During that time, they experienced a powerful sense of community "like family" and a deep love for the Vineyard way of worship, ministry, and serving others.

While serving and praying for young people during the festival, something unexpected happened. Over five days, around ten different young people at different times shared a similar message: they felt God was calling Faith and David to plant a church in Uganda. One moment that stood out was when a 14-year-old girl asked if she could pray for David and shared that she felt God was leading them to plant a church in Uganda.

Rather than rushing ahead, they chose to seek wisdom, pray, and take time to discern whether this was truly God’s direction. Over the following year, God continued to shape and confirm this calling, placing a deep passion in their hearts for Uganda and its people.

Today, that journey has led to the beginning of a Vineyard church in Fort Portal, Uganda. Vineyard Church Birmingham is their partner and sending church, who regularly checks in, supports, and walks alongside them as part of their wider Vineyard family. This church carries a vision to see leaders raised up, lives transformed, and the heart and DNA of the Vineyard take root in the local community.
